W Tap Timing
W Tap Timing
The entire action of hitting an opponent is going forwards, hitting your opponent, dealing knockback -> they go backwards and into the air, then releasing w and pressing it down again to reset sprint.
There are multiple problems with this that are solved with different w tap timings. The most common case is that since the damage cooldown is 0.5 seconds, you want to stay out of your opponent's range by not immediately pressing w again (to create distance for a brief moment while they are still going into the air).
If you were to immediately press down w again after hitting your opponent, you would be walking into their attack range while they are still immune to damage.
